Casambi is a proprietary platform based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) using a decentralized mesh network for lighting control. Each device acts as a node with no central hub required, ensuring reliability, scalability, and easy setup via smartphone or tablet.

System Architecture

  • Casambi LED controllers/drivers: support single-channel, CCT, RGB, RGBW, and RGBWA.
  • Mobile app (iOS/Android): dimming, color control, scenes, scheduling.
  • BLE mesh network: extended coverage via device-to-device relays.
  • Compatibility: wide ecosystem of certified partners (drivers, sensors, wireless switches, interfaces).

  • Optional cloud: remote management via dedicated gateway.

  • Typical BLE range: approx. 10–30 m per hop indoors (line-of-sight); greater in open spaces. Mesh networking further extends coverage.
  • Channel limits: native support up to 5CH (RGBWA); not natively supporting 6CH (RGBWAU).

Available Types

  • Single Channel (Dimmer 1CH): white or fixed-color LEDs (red, green, blue, amber, UV, etc.).
  • CCT 2CH: tunable warm/cool white.
  • RGB 3CH: three-channel color mixing.
  • RGBW 4CH: RGB with dedicated white channel.
  • RGBWA 5CH (RGB+CCT): RGB + tunable white for maximum chromatic flexibility.
