Matter RGBW 4CH: smart RGBW LED quad-channel control
Wireless RGBW color and white management with Matter protocol
Standard
The Matter RGBW 4-channel controllers and drivers enable wireless regulation of color, white component, and brightness of RGBW LED loads via the Matter protocol, the open standard for smart homes with full multi-ecosystem interoperability (Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, etc.). Versions are available with 12/24/36/48 V DC and 110/220 VAC input, with constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) outputs.
System Architecture
- Matter RGBW 4CH: compact/in-wall modules for managing the four LED channels R, G, B, W and creating wide-gamut color mixes.
- Compatible drivers: CV/CC versions with DC or AC supply.
- Hub/Border Router: for Thread devices, a compatible border router is required.
- Controls: ecosystem mobile app, Matter wall controllers/panels, remotes, push button couplers for traditional switches.
- Multiprotocol integration: via Matter bridges and conversion controllers, existing networks/protocols (e.g. DALI, 0–10V, DMX) can be connected in hybrid installations.
- Mesh topology: on Thread, routing between nodes with typical indoor coverage of ~10–30 m per hop; on Wi-Fi up to ~30–50 m in domestic environments.
Advanced Features
- Color + dedicated white management: RGB mixing for chromatic effects and W channel for natural white.
- White Priority / RGBW Mix: mixing logics to maintain optimal tones and color rendering with smooth transitions between color and white.
- Security by design: authenticated onboarding, end-to-end encryption, and secure fabrics.
- Native interoperability: multi-admin management from supported ecosystems without lock-in.
- Simplified pairing: inclusion via QR code or numeric code from the app, initiated via Bluetooth LE.
- Network reliability: stable Thread/Wi-Fi; mesh resilience with self-healing paths.
- System modularity: easy expansion by adding drivers and control devices.
- Deep dimming <1%: smooth regulation with uniform curve free of perceptible flicker even at low levels.
- Scenes and automations: scheduling, color transitions, dynamic effects, and sensor triggers.
- Voice compatibility: control with Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa (via compatible hubs/bridges).
- High-frequency PWM: 250–500 Hz (entry), 1–4 kHz (mid), 8–16 kHz (high-end), suitable for photo/video.
- OTA updates: firmware and parameter updates via the ecosystem for new functions and security.
- Efficiency and comfort: use of the W channel for “white” scenes more efficient than pure RGB; lower indirect CO₂ emissions.
Typical Applications
- Circadian cycles + chromotherapy: studios, clinics, spas, and wellness centers.
- Emotional shower: light/color sequences combined with sounds and scents.
- Premium residential: living rooms, bedrooms, and home entertainment with quick switch from functional white to scenic lighting.
- Hospitality: hotel rooms, halls, lounge bars, and restaurants with RGBW combinations.
- Retail: shop windows and corners with dynamic light and high-CRI white for product color rendering.
- Creative offices: scenarios for brainstorming, focus, and presentations.
- Art installations: RGB and white combinations to enhance textures and materials.
Available Types
